Is Book of Dead Fair? What Can Be Checked and What Cannot
In short: Book of Dead is an RNG slot, so no single spin can be recomputed by a player. What can be checked is the paperwork, and Play'n GO holds UK account 55949 with zero regulatory actions recorded against it.
A Book of Dead spin cannot be replayed or recomputed by the person who made it. Five other things can be checked in about ten minutes, and we checked all five.

Fairness You Cannot Check
A Book of Dead spin stays unrepeatable, and patience changes nothing about that. The game exposes no server seed, no player seed and no published hash. The client holds no fairness panel either, because a reel game of this kind works differently from a crash game.
That matters for a specific reason.
On some titles a reader takes four strings off the screen, hashes them, and watches the round result fall out. Here the equivalent trail is simply absent. Anyone claiming to have verified an individual spin has verified nothing.
Checks That Are Actually Possible
Five things can be checked, and we checked all five. The paytable, the rules text, the stake grid, the jurisdiction differences and the licence registers are open to anyone with a browser and ten minutes.

The paytable came first. We read its three screens in the demo, then set them against Play'n GO's own Game Rules and Settings document. Every value matched, line for line. That included the footer that trips up most write-ups: symbol wins multiply the bet staked per line, while scatter wins multiply the total bet.
What We Compared, and What Matched
| What we read | Where it came from | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Paytable, three screens | The live demo client | Matches the studio's rules document exactly |
| Rules text, 5,361 characters | The client's own help panel | Return figure appears only with a jurisdiction code |
| Stake grid, walked to the stops | Settings panel in the demo | 0.01 to 100.00, matching the published limits |
| Ceiling | Paytable screen | 250,000 coins, stated in coins rather than as a multiplier |
Figures current as of ; the operator's live terms prevail.
The Paperwork, Read by Number
Play'n GO's licences check out by number rather than by badge. The UK Gambling Commission lists account 55949 for Play'n GO Malta Limited. Its remote gambling software licence, 055949-R-332212-004, has been active since . Regulatory actions recorded against it: zero.

Malta resolves the same way. The company holds authorisation MGA/B2B/225/2012 as a Type 1 gaming service, and the recognition notice register carries no entry for it at all. Sweden runs to and Denmark to .
Every regulator we read came back clean, and a clean sheet deserves reporting as plainly as a bad one would.
One advertised detail stays out. The studio publishes an issue date for its Maltese licence; the register carries no such field, so we leave the date where the studio put it.
No Certificate Names Book of Dead
Public laboratory certificates for this title come to zero, and most laboratories run no public register to search in the first place. The three official rules documents name no laboratory, no certificate number and no date. The game record on the studio's own site adds nothing either.
Play'n GO's only statement on the subject sits at company level and carries no numbers.
Testing is mandatory in regulated markets and does happen. Results simply stay unpublished per title. So any page quoting a certificate number for this slot is quoting something no register holds.
Why the Brand Appears in Odd Places
Sweden's regulator answered this one on the record, and its answer is the most useful document in the whole file. In January 2024 Spelinspektionen found the Play'n GO brand on sites run by operators banned from the Swedish market. It opened a supervision case, numbered 24Si128.

The company's explanation, as the regulator wrote it down, runs like this. The group operates through three companies, split between the EU and EEA, the United States, and the rest of the world. The games on the site in question came from Play'n Go Hungary Kft, in a category that includes Curacao. The case closed on with no further action.
Read it as a map rather than as a scandal. One brand can reach you along a licensed route or an unlicensed one, and the licence worth your attention belongs to the casino in front of you rather than to the studio.
How We Checked Book of Dead Ourselves
We played. Two recorded sessions in the official demo, 46 paid spins and then 204, with the bet fixed at 1.00 and the balance written down after every press. Each run produced one feature. Both re-triggered. Both drew the 10 as their expanding symbol, which is the cheapest entry on the paytable.
The returns were 68.5% and 86.3%.
Either figure would be misused as proof of a published return, including by us, so neither is offered that way. Two hundred and fifty spins is a sample that measures nothing. What it does show is that the mechanics behave as the document says they behave, and that is the only claim this page will make.
We have been made aware that there are game providers that offer copies of our games under the pretense of being aggregators or distributors of Play'n GO. Worst case, they may not be properly certified and verified for fairness.Play'n GO, on its own site

Key Terms Used on This Page
- RNG
- The random number generator that draws each spin. Book of Dead runs one across all 10 paylines, so no player can recompute a single result.
- Return to player
- The long-run share of stakes a game pays back. Play'n GO ships five versions of it for this title, from 96.21% down to 84.18%.
- Concession
- An Italian operating licence issued by ADM. Eurobet holds 16012, SNAI 16032. ADM licenses casinos, never game studios.
- Recognition notice
- A Maltese acknowledgement of another regulator's authorisation. Play'n GO is absent from that register and holds MGA/B2B/225/2012 instead.
- Supervision case
- A regulator's formal review. Spelinspektionen opened 24Si128 against the brand and closed it on with no action.
